The Nerdery is looking for a talented front-end developer with a passion for being on the cutting edge of web development with the skills to support legacy browsers when required.   • Expert at writing HTML that is semantic and well-formed
  • Expert at writing CSS that is scalable and modular
  • Expert in design production with an impeccable attention to detail
  • Expert in progressive enhancement techniques
  • Proficient at writing JavaScript that is object-oriented and extensible
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Photoshop
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Version Control
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Responsive Web Design
  • Knowledgeable about 508 / accessibility guidelines
  • Knowledgeable about client-side performance
  • Knowledgeable about browser capabilities

Educational Requirements

  • Associates Degree or equivalent from a 2-year college or technical school or 1 to 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience


  • Experience integrating client-side code into a variety of templating languages and CMSes - WordPress, Expression Engine, Umbraco, Handlebars, Mustache, Twig
  • Experience creating a pattern library or style guide - Hologram, KSS
  • Experience with preprocessors - SCSS, LESS
  • Experience with BEM naming conventions
  • Experience writing JavaScript that is object-oriented and extensible
  • Experience with Node Production Tools - Grunt, Bower, JSHint, CSSLint
  • Experience with AMD - RequireJS
