Nerd alert: IT firm looking to hire 100 in 100 days

The Nerdery, a Bloomington-based IT firm, is looking to hire 100 new employees in 100 days to prepare for projects in 2013, Twin Cities Business Magazine reports.

“The Nerd Drive” offers incentives in exchange for good referrals from the public to help fill web development positions. Anyone who provides a referral will be compensated based on how far the candidate makes it in the hiring process.

Compensation ranges from an “I Love Nerds” pocket protector just for the referral to $500 if the candidate is hired and works at the firm for a minimim of 90 days.

The Nerdery employs about 395 people in Bloomington and handfuls of staff in Chicago and Kansas City and continues to grow.

The company has been on the Inc. 5000 list of America’s fastest-growing private companies for the past five years and most recently made the “Flyover 50″ that recognizes the 50 fastest-growing companies based in the middle of the country.

The Nerdery is also behind the Overnight Website Challenge where developers volunteer their time to create websites for non-profit organizations at no charge in just 24 hours.
