Minneapolis agency partner Hello Viking conceived and designed a socially conscious Facebook application aimed at 18 - 24-year-old business school students for their client, PricewaterhouseCoopers, whose objective was to engage prospective employees and customers using social media.
Using Flash, we helped build Carbon Bigfoot, a viral application that allows users to consider and enter their current living habits – how they get around, what they consume, what they dispose of – and get to know the impact of their carbon footprint – a score correlating with various character graphics ranging in size.
Through an API, Carbon Bigfoot is shared virally on Facebook.
This viral Facebook application is used to raise awareness on the impact each of us have on the planet by looking at our current habits and recognizing the impact. It gave me an opportunity to learn a bit more about how much carbon I generate.
