The Nerdery lands on Flyover 50 list of fast-growing Mid-America companies

The Nerdery has debuted on The Flyover 50, an inaugural list recognizing the 50 fastest-growing companies in the middle of the country. With offices in Chicago and Minneapolis, The Nerdery is a developer-driven interactive production shop that partners with creative minds and big thinkers to envision and execute interactive projects, including websites, mobile apps and social media.

"Flyover 50 honorees are proof that there are plenty of reasons to land in the central U.S," said Fred Coulson, managing partner of Five Elms Capital. "We created the Flyover 50 to highlight great companies in the middle of the country for potential employees and customers.”

Founded in 2003 by three programming pioneers, The Nerdery has made Inc Magazine’s list of fast-growing privately owned companies for five consecutive years and was voted #1 Best Place to Work in Biz Journal for the past two years.

Companies qualified for the Flyover 50 based on percentage of revenue growth. To qualify for consideration, companies had to be based in a 20-state area in the middle of the country and have revenue of greater than $1 million in 2011. Number 36 on the Flyover 50 list, The Nerdery’s 2011 revenue was $26.4 million, up from $14.2 million in 2010.

“Flyover 50 aside, our Nerd cred has spread well beyond our stomping grounds here in Middle-earth,” said The Nerdery’s Chicago branch manager Dave Kam, seemingly confusing the company’s geolocations with the fictional setting authored by J.R.R. Tolkien. “Our far-ranging development capabilities allow us present multiple technology options to resolve any given business problem for our clients and ad agency partners from coast-to-coast and beyond.”

Flyover 50 winners will be recognized at an awards ceremony in conjunction with the 2012 ACG Mid-America Corporate Growth Conference June 7 in Kansas City. All told, the Flyover 50 includes 11 companies based in the geographic area covered by Silicon Prairie News (parts of Iowa, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska). The list was compiled by Five Elms Capital, a venture capital and private equity firm located in Prairie Village, Kan. Click here to view Silicon Prairie News' Flyover 50 announcement.
